Under 8s Day & National Simultaneous Storytime

Recently, 24 Distance Education students joined the on campus classes at ACC Caboolture for a wonderful Under 8’s Day celebration. Students enjoyed fun activities, with the petting zoo being a particular highlight, especially the adorable piglets. There were many hands on experiences for students, including designing paper bears, creating Chinese fans, bracelet making, sensory play, playdough, face painting, basketball, playground fun and circus skills activities and more. It was a fantastic morning for DE students to connect with other students, participate in creative activities and simply celebrate the joy of being a child.

DE students also participated in this year’s National Simultaneous Storytime online reading of Luna Roo the Kangaroo Baller, written by Adam Jackson and Adrian Lloyd, and illustrated by Jake Minton. After enjoying the story together, students discussed how they could relate to Luna Roo and her team, reflecting on teamwork, perseverance, courage, and not giving up.

DE Day Camps

Our recent DE Day Camps at Noosa and the Gold Coast were a fantastic opportunity for our primary students to connect, build friendships and enjoy time together. Despite the somewhat muddy conditions, spirits remained high and everyone embraced the adventure! Students enjoyed a range of activities including canoeing, stand-up paddle boarding, archery and hiking, with plenty of laughter and memorable moments along the way.

It was wonderful to see students making new connections and encouraging one another along the way. We thank God for the opportunity to grow together in friendship, community and faith.
